Responsibilities
  • SOCIAL MEDIA

-Develop and execute social media strategies (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest) to increase brand awareness, engagement, and sales

-Define and implement consistent Ananse brand personality and editorial voice across different social media channels

-Create and curate high-quality content (images, videos, stories, reels, articles) showcasing products, trends, and lifestyle

-Manage social media calendars, scheduling, and publishing

-Analyse social media metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) and adjust strategies accordingly

-Collaborate with influencers, brands, and partners for social media campaigns 

  • CONTENT STRATEGY

-Research and stay up to date on fashion trends, industry news, and social media best practices

-Develop content themes, style guides, and tone of voice aligned with brand identity.

-Collaborate with customer care, sourcing, merchandising, marketing and PR teams to ensure cohesive content messaging

-Plan and execute content campaigns (seasonal, promotional, educational) 

  • MULTIMEDIA CONTENT CREATION

-Produce high-quality visual content (photography, videography) for product listings, social media and marketing campaigns

-Work with creative staff, agencies and other department heads to produce high quality multimedia content

-Develop engaging video content (product demos, tutorials, behind-the-scenes) for social media and website

-Design and create graphics, illustrations, and animations for social media and marketing materials

-Edit and optimize content for web and mobile devices. 

  • INFLUENCER AND COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT

-Cultivate relationships and deploy social media campaigns with influencers, bloggers, content creators and other brand partners

-Manage influencer relationships, product seeding, and content collaborations

-Engage with customers, merchants, industry professional and journalists on social media, responding to comments, DMs, and reviews

  • ANALYTICS AND REPORTING

-Collate and analyse data to monitor the effectiveness of campaigns to maximise results

-Monitor and analyse social media metrics, website traffic, and e-commerce conversions.

-Provide regular reporting on content performance, engagement, and sales

-Report regularly on insights gained from social media analytics to support the Ananse team in evolving company strategies in a timely fashion

-Monitor trends in social media tools and applications to ensure Ananse utilises best industry practice

  • TRAINING

-Develop and deliver social media training to support targeted and current fashion merchants on our ecommerce marketplace platform

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field

-Minimum of 3 years social media community management and content creation experience in the fashion industry

-Good understanding of fashion ecommerce marketplaces and the African fashion landscape

-Knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization

-Familiarity with email marketing and automation tools

-Highly analytical and data driven

-Strong people, stakeholder and project management skills

-International exposure and understanding of different cultures

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Strong entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving capabilities with a record of finding feasible solutions to complex problems in an environment with incomplete information and tight timelines

-Willingness to travel locally and in Africa
