Google Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP)

Application Deadline: October 25, 2024

Google is dedicated to increasing the number of future computer scientists and software developers, particularly from underrepresented groups. Many aspiring computer scientists can benefit from a program that integrates academic learning with professional internships. The Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) is designed to do just that.
This 12-week program gives students the opportunity to work alongside another STEP intern on a software project, guided by full-time Google employees and a dedicated mentor. In addition to project work, participants will attend training sessions to enhance their technical and professional skills.

Google, at its core, is an engineering company that tackles some of the biggest challenges in technology. Google engineers work on everything from search optimization to large-scale storage solutions, new developer platforms, and global applications. Whether it’s Google Ads, Chrome, Android, or YouTube, Google’s engineers continuously shape the future of technology.
