Global Media Peace Awards 2024

Applications are now open for the Global Media Peace Awards 2024. Amid record military spending and rising global tensions fueled by ongoing conflicts, the Executive Education HEC Montréal, in collaboration with Pale Bleu Dot Foundation – Japan, is launching the Global Media Peace Awards. This initiative seeks to encourage and support global peace-building efforts.

These awards are open to all, recognizing the contributions of radio and television broadcasters, digital media experts, and citizens both public and private. In conflict prevention and resolution. The awards will be presented in three categories: Radio, Television, and Digital Media, celebrating the vital role of media in addressing global challenges and promoting peace.

Awards

Three cash prizes will be awarded in each of the three categories:

  • 1st Prize: C$5,000
  • 2nd Prize: C$2,500
  • 3rd Prize: C$1,500
Eligibility
  • Open to all public and private media organisations, as well as individual content producers.
  • Eligible entries include radio, TV, and digital media programs produced or co-produced in any country and broadcast between January 1, 2023, and August 30, 2024. Each program can only be submitted once.
  • Participants may submit one entry per category, including reportage, documentary, or docudrama, with a maximum duration of 52 minutes. Entries must be free from political propaganda and commercial advertising. Animation storytelling is also acceptable.
Application Process

To participate in the Global Media Peace Awards, applicants must complete a registration form and submit the following:

  • Their radio, television, or digital media program(s) in mp3 or wav format, in the original language.
  • A single document in English containing:
  1. An accompanying script
  2. A synopsis
  3. Biographies of the director/producer of the respective program.
How to Apply

All entries, along with the completed registration form, must be submitted via WeTransfer to the Executive Education HEC Montréal Awards Secretariat by August 30, 2024, at the following email address: executiveeducation@hec.ca.
